Oatlands Primary School
2025 Colour Run
FUNDRAISING CASE STUDY
Oatlands Primary School partnered with Go Raise It to support their 2025 Colour Run. After previously running a successful event in 2023 that raised around $16,000 using a traditional pen-and-paper approach, the school recognised that moving to an online system could help them reach a wider group of supporters and simplify the fundraising process.
The Fundraising Association explored a number of options, including full-service event providers, but found that many charged between 30–40% of funds raised, which didn’t fit the school’s needs or budget. Oatlands already had experience running Colour Runs independently; what they needed was a reliable online donation platform that would allow them to continue running the event their way.
Why Oatlands chose Go Raise It
For Oatlands, Go Raise It offered a straightforward digital solution without changing the way they preferred to run their event. The setup process was simple, the platform was easy for families to use, and communication throughout the campaign helped keep everything on track.
The Results
The 2025 Colour Run delivered a strong outcome for Oatlands Primary School:
- $37,195 raised, more than double the 2023 total and after ALL expenses including colour powder they made $31,225.50 profits
- 10% platform fee
- Families found the online experience straightforward
- Students remained engaged through prizes and communication
- Accounting and reconciliation were handled efficiently
Prizes
Oatlands Primary School used a simple and cost-effective prize structure that encouraged student participation without adding unnecessary expense.
These incentives were intentionally modest but helped maintain interest and motivation throughout the campaign.
SPOT PRIZES – INDIVIDUAL PRIZES – TEAM PRIZES
“Go Raise It’s fundraising platform was the perfect solution for us. From the first enquiry through to event day and afterward, the Go Raise It team provided a flawless experience.
It was incredibly easy to set up our fundraising site, and families found it simple to use. Spot prizes kept the kids engaged, communication was excellent, and Go Raise It even organised our colour powder, making everything easier.
We raised over $37,000, more than double our previous event, and with Go Raise It only charging 10%, it was by far the most economically viable option.
We highly recommend Go Raise It to any school or club wanting to run an electronic donation-based event.
We will absolutely be using them again for our next Colour Run.”
